Taking Global Industry Learning Beyond the Classroom

Day 1 — Understanding the China–India Supply Chain

The workshop began on a memorable note with the CHRIST University team felicitating me before we officially commenced the two-day learning experience.

I had the opportunity to lead the sessions and take students beyond textbook concepts into China–India trade, global sourcing, manufacturing ecosystems, supply chain dynamics, international business and emerging opportunities across global markets.

The most rewarding part was seeing how students responded. Questions turned into discussions, discussions brought different perspectives, and those perspectives created a more engaging learning environment.

When Learning Becomes an Exchange

I strongly believe that meaningful learning is not a one-way conversation. Throughout the sessions, students actively questioned, discussed and challenged ideas.

We looked at supply chains as interconnected systems involving markets, suppliers, manufacturing, logistics, trade and strategic decisions. That interaction made the workshop feel like a real conversation about how global business actually works.

Day 2 — From Concepts to Action

The second day moved from understanding to application. Students worked together on team activities and real-world China–India business scenarios, applying the concepts discussed during the workshop.

The most interesting part was watching each team approach the same challenge differently. Their presentations gave us an opportunity to review their thinking, understand their approach and discuss the decisions behind their ideas.

We then selected the best-performing team based on their work and presentation, recognising them for their effort and execution.

Celebrating Every Participant

The workshop concluded with every participant receiving a certificate in recognition of their participation and learning throughout the two-day experience. Our GIIP team was also felicitated by the CHRIST University management team, making the closing session particularly meaningful.

For me, these moments are reminders that industry immersion is about creating experiences that students remember and carry forward.

Why These Experiences Matter

India’s next generation of professionals will operate in a world where businesses, markets and supply chains are increasingly interconnected. Understanding this world requires more than classroom theory.

Students need opportunities to question, collaborate, analyse, present and experience real-world business thinking. That is the kind of learning environment we want GIIP to create with universities across India and beyond.

The Mission Continues

This workshop was one more step towards a larger vision. GIIP Global is building bridges between classrooms and global industries — creating opportunities for students to experience the world before they enter it professionally.

The journey has only begun.
